  • Built a content-based image search REST API: OpenCV preprocessing feeds a pretrained ResNet50 (PyTorch) to generate 2048-dim embeddings for a 200-image, 5-category catalog.
  • Designed a FAISS vector index (IndexFlatIP over L2-normalized embeddings) for exact cosine-similarity search, returning ranked top-5 matches.
  • FastAPI service (POST /search, GET /health) with full input validation and an automated pytest suite.
